Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
At White Events, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose, and manage your personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Scope and Applicability
This policy applies to personal information collected by us via our website, through offline interactions, and via third parties, where we are an APP entity. Where we collect or handle “sensitive information” (such as health data, race, religion, etc.), additional protection and consent requirements may apply under the APPs.
3. What Kinds of Personal Information We Collect
We may collect:
- Identifiers: name, email address, postal address, phone number
- Web & technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, usage data, cookies
- Communications: feedback, inquiries, support requests
- Sensitive information (only with consent, if required)
- Any other information you voluntarily provide
- We do not hold any financial information that belongs to you; however, you should be aware that you may be providing financial information to a third party billing service to whom you may be directed at the time of agreeing to a service or purchasing a product on our website. Please ensure that you have thoroughly read their terms and conditions prior to the use of their services, as information provided to a third party is subject to their terms and conditions and not these.
We only collect personal information reasonably necessary for our functions or activities.
4. How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through website analytics and cookies, from third parties (e.g., payment processors), and from publicly available sources. If we receive unsolicited personal information, we will determine whether we could have collected it under APP 3. If not, we will destroy or de-identify it.
5. Purpose for Collection, Use and Disclosure
We use personal information to:
- provide you with products and services during the usual course of our business activities;
- administer our business activities;
- manage, research and develop our products and services;
- provide you with information about our products and services;
- communicate with you by a variety of measures including, but not limited to, telephone, email, SMS or mail; and
- investigate any complaints.
We will not use or disclose your personal information for a new purpose without your consent, unless permitted under the APPs. Direct marketing will only be sent with your consent (or if you have not opted out). You can opt out at any time.
6. Disclosure and Cross-Border Transfers
We may disclose personal information to service providers, contractors, partners, law enforcement, and overseas recipients. When disclosing information overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with the APPs or comparable protections. Countries to which disclosures are likely to occur will be listed on our website or upon request.
7. Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information using measures such as encryption, access controls, secure storage, and staff training. We will destroy or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed unless legally required to retain it.
8. Access and Correction
You have rights under APP 12 and APP 13 to request access to and correction of your personal information. Requests will be responded to within a reasonable period. If a request is refused, we will provide reasons and steps for escalation.
9. Complaints
If you believe your privacy has been breached, please contact us at admin@whiteevents.com.au
We will respond shortly after receiving written notice. If unresolved, complaints can be referred to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website, and significant changes may also be notified directly.
